Our Mission

High in the Andes of the Cusco region, in Peru, hundreds of small communities are spread across mountain tops, isolated from the world and trapped in time. You probably have heard of Cusco because of the world-famous citadel of Machu Picchu, which bring millions of tourists every year, tourists who get to see all the mainstream attractions and spend millions of dollars in souvenirs made mostly from alpaca by local crafts-men and women. And while the industry is booming, the artisans who create these pieces of art often live in extreme poverty. For the people of these communities the options are very limited; farming or weaving are the main activities they can work in to sustain themselves. Most of the alpaca pieces sold all over Cusco are crafted by these humble weavers who never get to see the prosperity the ever-growing number of tourists has brought to the region.

The main purpose of our organization is to improve the education levels in these communities. Right now, Peru is dead last in South America when it comes to reading comprehension and math skills, mainly because of the poor conditions of the educational infrastructure in many regions of the country. Since their location makes traditional education almost impossible, we will bring education to them remotely. For that, some minimum infrastructure is needed, more specifically, an internet connection. By commercializing around the world the amazing textiles they make, we will eliminate the middleman, who usually makes the most money, helping them generate the revenue necessary to invest in the infrastructure needed to execute our project, while making them self-sustained at the same time.
